“ I've been here twice but only on Saturdays because the DJ (DJGQUE561) brought such a vibe that had me singing and dancing the whole time. This place has outdoor & indoor dining, however I chose the outdoor because of the DJ. The outdoor area has fans, I noticed some were working properly and some were not. Operating fans are very important in the Florida heat and where smoking is going on. The place was clean, nice ambiance, female bathroom was a little dated. I ordered shrimp Caesar salad each time I visited... The first time, it was an excessive amount of dressing that was hard for me to enjoy but the next time I asked for the dressing on the side and it was perfect. The outside waitress on my first visit was more friendlier than the next visit. The second visit waitress was strictly business which was just fine with me. All other staff encounters were professional and friendly. I will definitely be returning and I have told my friends. This is definitely an enjoyable place to be on Saturday nights! “ I recently attended a 50th birthday party at Majestic 7 Ash Lounge and it was quite the journey to get there! Coming from Fort Lauderdale, it took me a solid 50 minutes to arrive, but once I got there, I was pleasantly surprised by how they used the relatively small space. They had an outdoor patio area, a cozy bar section, and a spot for seated dining. The music was pumping both inside and outside, spanning various genres and keeping everyone dancing for most of the night. There were about 50 of us celebrating, along with a few regulars popping in and out at the bar. The service was a bit slow, probably because our group was quite large. However, the owner or manager was visible throughout the night, making sure everyone was taken care of. It took a while to get our drinks, which were desperately needed considering the AC didn't seem to be working. Luckily, one of the partygoers came prepared with a handheld fan, which was a lifesaver. I was pleasantly surprised by the prices of the food items--they were much more reasonable than I expected. And the portions? Generous, to say the least. My husband tried the fried chicken, which he loved along with the collard greens. The macaroni and cheese could've been a tad creamier, but it was still tasty. I decided to go with the oxtail and grits... DELICIOUS! The oxtails were perfectly seasoned, and the grits were packed with flavor. I was extremely shocked to hear that the place had been open for 5 years. With how slow the service was, I would've guessed 1 year or less. They don't seem like they are accustomed to serving larger crowds. That's sad, because I feel like more people should know about this hidden gem. They may also need additional staff. Despite the slow service and lack of AC, the night was a blast. Great food, great music, and great company made it an enjoyable celebration. It was also the perfect date night for my husband and me. I'm looking forward to return on a Friday night for the live music on the patio--just wish it were a bit closer! ”

“ This is a black owned soul food restaurant and cigar bar. The bartender was wonderful. She guided us with her recommendations and she set us up in our reserved area on the patio lounge. Inside there is a DJ and in the patio area there is a live ragged band. This was a great spot for a Saturday night. We ordered wing and crab cakes appetizers. For dinner we got pecan crusted salmon and Cajun pasta. We all have food to take home. The owner showed us so much love and he really made sure we enjoyed our visit to this restaurant. ”

“ The restaurant is beautiful and culturally rich. Great restaurant for private parties. The food was safe. I went for the Oxtails and Grits but they ran out of oxtails. I switched my order to the Cajun Pasta and Pan Fried Snapper. The pasta has a little heat to it but the snapper was outstanding. There was 12 people in our group and we were the only patrons in the restaurant, one waitress was working, and we waited close to 40 minutes for our food. The DJ was perfect and we danced until we could not dance anymore. ”

“ I am happy that we finally got to come to Big Mike's newest location. We chose to come early to have a nice quiet dinner. Jesse was great. Though tending bar, we managed to make sure we were comfortable. He makes a mean drink too. The food was really good too. Will definitely be back. ”
